We love our home here at the end of the rainbow and hope you will, too. It’s a special place, with gorgeous views over the dunes so you can enjoy the ocean without even leaving the house. There are windows all the way around the third-floor great room, a loft which allows you to see far and wide, large decks on every level, and a screened-in porch on the back side of the house to watch sunsets over the sound. The beach is just over the dunes – you couldn’t be closer. Our grandchildren and friends love the solar-heated private pool and we enjoy the hot tub even in cool weather. The top floor has a beautiful open kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you’ll need, and there’s plenty of room for the whole family in the dining room, with a table that seats eight, a breakfast bar, and a separate breakfast table. If you would like to barbecue, there is a weber gas grill in the carport. The great room features a 40-inch flat-screen hdtv with satellite service, a dvr and a blu-ray dvd player. Beyond the great room is a small office nook with a desk. The house also boasts an elevator, which we love to use for carrying luggage and groceries. The treasure for us here at the end of the rainbow has been wonderful times with friends and family, set against the background of this beautiful beach. We wish you the same!

Watersports abound! Swimming, surfing, kiteboarding, paddleboarding and kayaking are all available just a few minutes away from the house. Check out Real Watersports a few blocks south or Kitty Hawk Kites a few blocks north. If you like to fish, you can surf fish, pier fish, fish in the sound, or hire a charter for the big ones out in the Gulf Stream. There are several casual restaurants in the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo area. Atlantic Coast Café and Top Dog Café are a short walk up to Highway 12 from the house. Lisa’s Pizza is a very popular local restaurant that is just a short drive north in Rodanthe. For your sweet tooth, Dairy Queen is just at the end of the block (it is only open Memorial Day to Labor Day). We highly recommend the Orange Blossom Bakery and Café in Buxton for breakfast. It’s a 30-minute drive to get there, but it is well worth it! Be sure to try their apple uglies (the biggest apple fritter you have ever seen). They also have great donuts and breakfast sandwiches.
