Early 2018 winter storms caused some damage to the dunes along this section of beach, and many of them have been rebuilt. As a result, beach access points across the dunes may have changed since your last visit. Please follow new signage for dune crossovers and do not climb or tread on dune areas that are not designated paths. This is critical in helping protect these fragile dunes from the wear of pedestrian traffic. Let the panoramic views of Pflueger?s Lure reel you in this year on Hatteras Island. This fabulous, 6 bedroom 6 1/2 bath, oceanfront cottage is cozy, unique and full of beach-y personality.
Pflueger?s Lure boasts an elevated heated pool directly off the bedroom level deck, an unshared walkway over the dune straight to the beach and a fish cleaning station with rod holders!
From the time you pull down the long rope-lined, paved drive to the rock parking area you?ll feel utterly transported. Coastal decor outside has the house dripping with coastal charm. Under the house there is covered parking for two as well as a fenced area for your four-legged friend. Just off the parking area a ramp leads to the elevator, with stops at every floor, for easy handicap-friendly access or to make light work of loading suitcases, groceries and the week?s supplies into the house. Also under the home, you will find an outdoor shower with changing area, fish cleaning table with lights and water and a unique fishing pole storage area as well as a foot bath to keep your beach castle sand-free. One of the most notable features of this home is located on this ground level just out back; an unshared walkway leads straight from the house and descending deck stairs over the dunes to the beautiful soft sand beaches of Avon.
Take the elevator or enter the home from the front steps to the first level of living and a full sized washer and dryer. Ride or step up to the second level and find four cozy bedrooms. Three bedrooms on this level are king masters with private bathrooms. The fourth bedroom on this level has two twin beds and is also a master bedroom with a private full-size bathroom. All rooms have 32? flatscreen HDTV with DirecTV DVR and BluRay DVD players. Three king masters have direct access to the elevated heated pool at deck level, hot tub and stairway down to the ground level and unshared boardwalk to the beach.
Along the stairs to the next level, find a half bath on the landing. Continue your journey to the third level where you are greeted by a beautiful open floor plan and ocean views. To your immediate right features an all upgraded kitchen with all the modern conveniences that you?ll be hoping to find, including a Keurig coffee maker and an ice machine for stocking the cooler. With a small breakfast table, deck or afternoon refreshments, and a great breakfast bar for visiting, you?re never far from the action. To the left off the stairs is the 10-seater dining table, the elevator drop-off and a staircase leading up to a loft with a king bed and small, full-size bathroom. Back down on the main living level, along the panoramic oceanfront windows you?ll find comfy seating for a crowd. The great room features a 70? flat screen HDTV, DirecTV with whole house DVR & Blu-ray to watch your favorite movies or TV shows. A library of games and books leaves you with plenty to do when not at the beach, and the game table is fun for the whole family. With exposed beams and unique coastal decor, Pflueger?s Lure casts a beautiful spell on all those who enjoy this great vacation home. Just off the dining room is the 5th bedroom facing the ocean, featuring a double bed, with direct upper deck access and outstanding ocean views. Satisfy your office needs with a laser printer located in the entertainment center. Step out any of the doors on this level to a fully furnished resurfaced deck with gas grill and relax in a lounge chair or Adirondack as you soak up the sun and scenery. Back steps lead from this level straight down to that unshared boardwalk over the dune to the beach.
